Problem:
Can I add the DONATE button for PayPal to our homepage of ****
Original poster
Solution:
To add a PayPal donate button to any page of your choice, you simply create the Donate button at PayPal; copy the Code they provide; then choose which place you would like it added, and paste the code.
If you are adding to a PAGE/POST/EVENT - click the Edit page (or NEW if making new page) option (Top bar, or go into Dashboard to Edit page).
- Click the "TEXT" tab of the visual editor.
- Find the location you want to add the button. Example, if its in the bottom, scroll down.
- Paste the HTML provided by paypal, and Save/Publish
TIP: HTML can be a mess, if you have a hard time with its position. Put some easy to find characters in the VISUAL part of the editor, like this
pppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
paypal button here
pppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
Then when you go to the visual editor, you will be able to highlight that text, and replace with the HTML code.
To add it to a Sidebar
Find the appropriate sidebar being used for that page. Page, Blog, or Custom Sidebar (to find which custom sidebar it's using if you don't recognize it, click the EDIT page).
Add PayPal code as a "TEXT Widget" by dragging text widget over, and pasting in paypal code.
Option: Gravity Forms
You can always create a custom Donate gravity form by making a new form (without fields), and adding a PayPal condition to it. So when someone submits, theyre routed to paypal to donate. Example, you can make a Donate some Gas form with a quantity field. So "Buy our groomer a gallon of gas!" and every gallon = $4 donation. So if they choose 5 gallons = $20. On submit theyre routed to paypal.
Then inserting a gravity form is even easier, as you don't have to worry about PayPal HTML messing up, or getting it from paypal every time you wish to add it. As the form can be put anywhere, and used multiple times! Insert the gravity form to your page, post, event, or widget!
