Ensuring Correct General Website Settings

While content is a necessity to a website, so are the site’s settings. Let’s ensure your site settings are correct!

To do so, log into your site and navigate to the Dashboard. In the dashboard, on the left-hand column, there’s a tab labeled ‘Settings’. In this tab you’ll find various settings for your site, such as Site Title, Tagline, Email Address, Timezone, Date Format, etc. The basics and essentials that should be set correctly are the first three: Site Title, Tagline, and Email Address. Your Site Title is what will appear in your website’s header (or on the website toolbar), while the tagline is slightly self-explanatory where you would enter your club’s slogan or some sort of quote that reflects your club. The email address section is, as noted, used for admin purposes (if you change this we will send you an e-mail at your new address to confirm it; the new address will not become active until confirmed). So in other words the email address you define there is the same email address that the website will receive and send emails from.
