Alert - If using Membership read this about User Roles and Membership Plugin
FeaturedIf you use Membership to help manage your members, and control Administration access to your site, please be aware of the following
By default, we have created basic templates of membership Access levels. Without this, you would have to add a user to your website (Users) - then assign them Editor, Administrator, etc. These basic functions will work with/without the Membership level. However, if you have a Membership level of - say - staff, which Restricts Admin options (but assigns them "Admin") the user will not have normal Admin access, but only the access allowed to them in the membership role.
Should their paid membership lapse, they will then default to the standard wordpress role, and premissions. So for officers, we still suggest making them editors, but if you wish to fine tune the access, use membership.
However, it is not advised to make people Admins then restrict admin via Members. As when their membership lapses, they will have FULL site admin access.
